How We Got Started Creating The Smoking Pipes & Accessories You Know & Love
Our Story From The Beginning
Our company goes way back to 1947 when two gentlemen master Wiktor Winiarski and Zbigniew came up with the idea to start a pipe company called “Wooden Accessories and Plastic Products BESKID.
In 1992 to 1995 the company became Mr. Brog and we began giving names and numbers to all our handcrafted pipes. Over the years we have successfully sold over 2,000,000 pipes, and are the leader of the European pipe market.
Affordable Without Lacking Quality
Our goal from the start was how to be effectively producing many pipes, while keeping the cost at a minimum. We brought the costs down while not compromising the quality of the pipe and smoke. We proudly consider ourselves the king in affordable pipe manufacturing. Being affordable also means that any individual can own a full collection of a pipe rack. Styles, finishes, colors etc…
Always Handmade, Always in Poland
We hand pick artistic individuals, and under the guidance of the pipe master Zbigniew Bednarczyk are thought to master pipe art.
We prepare the basic pipe shapes according to the model and style, and each pipe artists goes on to prepare his or her pipes by hand, artistically choosing their color, rustication design and some other final touch ups.
Selecting and Crafting the Perfect Wood
We cut the wood during the dry season of late fall. We let it dry outdoors for 2 full season cycles to harden as much as possible.
We prepare the right amount of wood, or root and position the culaga to cut the height, width and length of the block which we measure along the rings of the wood. The wood is selected ruthlessly with no cracked blocks, snags or other imperfections. Then we cut the rectangular blocks, marking the tenon the wooden part of the pipe between the head and mouthpiece determining the basic shape of the pipe.
